Press release from UNC Greensboro Athletics: 5/18/2022 1:00:00 PM Story Links GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team honored its 2022 senior class prior to the Saturday game against ETSU. We asked the senior class to reflect on their time in the blue and gold. Our next senior is Jake Wolf. Jake came to UNCG as a true freshman in 2019. He's made 23 appearances in his career, including South Carolina, Wake Forest, and Central Florida this season. He has struck out 15 batters and has a career ERA of 7.88. In his sophomore and junior season, he posted a 0.00 ERA. Wolf has shined in the classroom, earning a spot on the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and a spot on the Dean's List. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration this month and will return next year to pursue a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching. Why did you choose UNCG? I chose UNCG because I knew it was a very competitive program. I love what the program preaches and the standard here is very respectable. With UNCG also being close to home, I felt like it was the right fit. What has been your favorite baseball moment at UNCG? My favorite moment was our comeback win against Furman my freshman year. We were down 9-5 in the bottom of the ninth, we tied the game 9-9, and then Budzik hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the 13th. What piece of advice would you give to future Spartans? My piece of advice would be to cherish every moment here and treat every day like it's your last. Baseball doesn't last forever and these are the memories and relationships you will have and remember your whole life. What do you want to be remembered for? I want to be remembered as someone who was a great teammate, a big-time competitor, and someone who loved the game of baseball.
