ENCINITAS, CA — The San Diego Registrar of Voters is reminding voters they can vote early. More than 1.9 million ballots for the June 7 primary election were sent out to registered voters last week, according to the Registrar of Voters office. As ballots arrive in mailboxes, voters can vote early by mailing or dropping off completed ballots at ballot drop box locations across San Diego County. "You don't need to wait until Election Day to vote," Registrar of Voters Cynthia Paes said. "And the sooner we get your ballot back, the sooner we can start processing it. Your ballot can be in the first release of election night results." To vote by mail, voters need to mark the ballot, place the ballot inside the official return envelope, seal the envelope, and sign and date the envelope. Ballots can be sent through the mail at a U.S. Postal Service office or collection box. Voters who return their ballot through the Postal Service can track it by signing up for "Where's My Ballot?" Ballots can also be dropped off at one of the 132 official mail ballot drop-off locations around the county. Starting May 28, select vote centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including on Memorial Day on May 30, according to the Registrar of Voters office. Starting June 4, more than 200 vote centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. All vote center locations will be open on Election Day on June 7, when voting hours change to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
