WORCESTER, MA — One of the victims of a deadly fire in Worcester has been identified by friends as Marcel Fontaine, who gained national attention in 2018 after suing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and the website InfoWars. Fontaine's friends on Tuesday set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise money for his funeral. Fontaine, 29, was among four people who died in a fire that broke out early Saturday morning at a six-unit triple-decker home along Gage Street. "Marcel was a loving son, supportive friend, passionate lover and proud brother," the fundraiser page set up by John Drozdzynski said. "Marcel was outgoing and had a love for music, and always made a point to be 'unapologetically himself.'" Worcester police on Wednesday identified the other three victims in the fires as Joseph Garchali, 47; Christopher Lozeau, 53; and Vincent Page, 41, who lived along Sunderland Road. Fontaine sued Jones after InfoWars identified Fontaine as the shooter behind the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. The incident triggered a wave of harassment against Fontaine. Fontaine's lawsuit kicked off a series legal actions against Jones, including by parents of the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting. Jones has filed for bankruptcy ahead of an August trial that will determine how much he owes Sandy Hook families. Jones was ordered to pay Fointaine $100,000 in April, according to HuffPost.
