Performs work pertaining to the maintenance of all equipment, buildings, and grounds at the park. Work includes, but is not limited to:
• Perform a variety of tasks using various hand and power tools in the maintenance and repair of park property and facilities. This includes using rakes, shovels, push and self-propelled mowers, string trimmers, and backpack blowers.
• Drive pickup trucks, motorized carts, riding mowers, tractors, and trailers.
• Collect and remove litter and trash from parks; clean restrooms, buildings, paths, and lots.
• Prepare facilities for special events or uses.
• Layout and line soccer fields.
• Other assigned duties.
Typical Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Washington driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Requires the ability to operate and use hand and power tools normally associated with maintenance work.
• Requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written English instructions.
• Requires the ability to perform assigned work tasks in a variety of weather conditions and in a timely fashion.
• Be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• The Seasonal Work period is expected to begin ASAP and end in September/October. Ending date is flexible. Employees will be hired on the basis of experience, abilities, availability, an in-person interview, and their ability to fulfill the work period requirement.
Job Type: Temporary
Salary: $17.00+/hour DOE
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some weekend work is required depending on crew assignment and needs of the park.
