Description

What the puppies will be- exceptionally intelligent companions and all around family dogs. Raised indoors as members of the family, they will have a foundation of potty training and kennel training. These puppies CANNOT be transitioned to being outdoor dogs. If you want an outdoor dog, please choose a pup who was reared outside. For the pup and your sake, this is nonnegotiable. The pups will have age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, and vet checked for health. These pups will be handled every day, socialized to people, animals, different sights, sounds and smells. What the puppies will not be- Outdoor dogs. These pups will all be raised inside with their parents and the family. They cannot be transitioned outdoors. Guard dogs. These puppies do not have the genetic makeup to be guard dogs. While they will certainly look imposing and may give a good bark, they are multiple generations deep of not being aggressive/combative with humans, including strangers. Considering what a litigious society we live in, a dog who is a visual deterrent without being a bite risk is, in our opinion, ideal. Meet the parents- Brutus- Brutus is going to be 7 years old on July 31st, weighs approximately 93 lbs and has an all around stellar temperament. He is excellent with all people and is particularly fond of children. He is gentle and excellent with even tiny kids. He is high drive (not to be confused with hyperactive. A hyperactive dog is not a focused dog) as he comes from working lines. He is extremely ball motivated. He has excelled at obedience, tricks, and would have been ideal for SAR or nose work. He has put many hundreds of miles next to the bike with me running alongside and in front. Brutus is excellent with cats, livestock, small animals and the extreme majority of other dogs. He does not care for other large breed males of breeding age that are alpha personalities. This is to be expected in German Shepherds, particularly intact, and isn’t a fault. Brutus is technically a long coated dog, but has a medium coat type sometimes described as plush. Brutus is a CARRIER ONLY for DM. This means that he may pass on one affected gene to his pups, a 50/50 chance. Because Nova is DM clear, none of the puppies will be impacted by DM. This only will be of concern to you if you choose to breed your dog later in life. If you do and your pup is a DM carrier, he/she must not be bred to another carrier and certainly not an affected dog. Brutus loves to swim, sit on the patio at restaurants and is a take anywhere, meet anyone type of dog. He looks imposing but is gentle and a perfect family pet. Nova- Nova is approximately 65 lbs and is highly affectionate. She is soft tempered, meaning that she is very handler responsive and doesn’t need much correction. Nova is sensitive and truly one of the most loving dogs we have had the privilege of owning. She is more aloof to strangers than Brutus and will bark at new people coming up to the house, but she is in no way a bite risk. She does not immediately make friends with new people, but becomes affectionate once she realizes they’re friends who visit regularly. She is a well mannered, medium to low drive dog. She loves to run with the bike and go to the dog park, but she is not ball driven or a candidate for being a working dog. She absolutely excels in being the ideal family pet, however. She is lovely with cats and other small house pets, all other types of dogs and children. She is nurturing and sweet, the kind of dog who is always by your side. She is sensible and well mannered in public, and can be taken to restaurants, shops etc and behave beautifully. As affectionate as she is, she has zero separation anxiety and kennels perfectly. Remember when choosing a puppy that while nurture is undeniably important, nature is too. Aggression, anxiety, and neurotic behavior are heritable just as physical characteristics are. Brutus and Nova are not only physically sound, but mentally as well. DNA reports available upon request. Nova is AKC registered, Brutus’ parents were from different kennel clubs so he is not currently registered. I am going to register him with the CKC, as I have DNA testing to prove he is purebred. That means the pups will be CKC eligible. We have 2 males and 1 female left to rehome, 600 dollar fee. Please tell me some about your family, living situation, existing pets, and what you envision as your ideal GSD. Note that some pups are plush coated like dad, some are slick haired like mom. 2 pups are Black and Tan, the rest are bicolor. Until those who have placed deposits on pups already choose their pup at 6 weeks, I can’t assure you will get a long or short coat. (Two males and two female are already sold.) your pick order is based on your deposit, which is 100 dollars, 500 due on pickup. If you are dead set on one or the other, as far as coat length, it may not be a good litter for you. Please text me at Eight3o- nine28- 98five9. Thank you!
