Warning: Faith Lutheran Fake Gig

This warning goes out to all Orange County (and Southern California) musicians. This is a true story, and it is what happened to me. I reached out to Faith Lutheran in Capo Beach because I had read about previous Oktoberfest events that they had held. They told me, both verbally and via email, that my band and I were hired for the 2022 event (October 22nd, 2022). When I never received the deposit check and signed contract, I reached out again and was assured that both had been mailed. I will be happy to forward the blatantly deceptive email that I received with an offer to replace the "lost" check. Then, the final straw was this morning when an agent emailed me asking about how much I would charge for this job! I'm sure that Faith Lutheran didn't think they'd get caught trying to hire more than one band for the same time on the same afternoon, and, actually, I'm not even sure that the event is real at this point. Please don't be fooled by flowery words and "check's in the mail" promises!
