Happy Paws Fit & Sit (HPFS) is currently seeking Pet Caretakers & Fitness Handlers to provide exceptional care for pets in North East and Central San Antonio. This position will cover a wide range of functions for pet owners in our community, including (but not limited to): -Managing multiple pet households -Following individualized feeding plans -Providing and monitoring potty breaks -Providing controlled walks and pet outings -Reinforcing behavior modification and training goals -Performing wellness checks, ensuring a safe and clean environment -Administering medications and other minor medical procedures (training will be provided) -Providing safe and reliable pet transportation -Providing excellent communication (verbal & written) to HPFS Clients and Co-Care Providers
 Necessary Qualifications: -Must be at least 21 years old and be able to pass a criminal background check -Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record -Must own reliable transportation with valid insurance -Must own a smart phone with GPS, Camera, and Texting capabilities -Must live in or around the general coverage area (NE/Central San Antonio) -Must be committed to working with us a minimum of 1 year or more -Must be extremely ETHICAL, RELIABLE AND RESPONSIBLE, with the ability to self motivate and work independently -Must be an excellent observer and communicator, with special attention to detail -Must be able to work outdoors during ALL weather conditions (rain, extreme hot/cold temperatures) -Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, all major holidays, school vacation weeks, summers, and peak holiday/travel seasons -Must be physically fit, comfortable with, and possess the physical strength, to properly leash and walk highly energetic dogs (all breeds). This includes being capable of walking multiple large breed dogs at once -Most of all, must have a heart of service and be willing to treat each animal with dignity, care and compassion, regardless of breed, temperament, age, or health conditions Job specifications: Type: Contract Position Starting Pay Rate: $10 per hour (eligible for increase after 4-week training) Starting Availability: Part-time, 10 - 15 hours per week Serious applicants only. Working in animal care is rewarding and fun, but it can also be demanding at times. This position is ideal for the person who has a very flexible schedule, loves the outdoors and does not mind being outdoors in inclement weather, can take direction well without being under constant supervision.
