Embracing and leveraging our differences is an APPRECIATIVE approach to inclusion Workshop Learning Objectives: Gain a grounding in Diversity, Inclusion as strengths to an organizationRaise awareness of what biases are and how they impact othersIdentify inclusive strategiesRecognize Personal and Organizational Biases that Implead Inclusion Facilitated by Julie Jenkins Julie Jenkins is an accomplished Human Resource and Organizational Development Executive with experience in both the Corporate Fortune 10 companies and the Not-for-Profit space. She prides herself in leveraging her expertise in Diversity, Change Management and Inclusion as the lens to Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Organizational Effectiveness, Employee Engagement and Employee Development. Currently, the Sr. Director People & Culture at BakerRipley, Julie leads a team dedicated to making BakerRipley an Employer of Choice through the strategic Human Capital Management (People & Culture) functional pillars: Talent Management, HRIS, Total Rewards & Recognition, Learning & Development, Internal Communications and Diversity, Engagement & Inclusion. Prior to joining BakerRipley, Julie directed Sysco’s Diversity Engagement & Inclusion efforts. While at Sysco she launched their first Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council and developed its (first) Diversity Roadmap, Diversity Training Curriculum and Measurement Systems.. Julie has held various HR positions at: Legna & Associates, Sysco, LyondellBasell, IBM, The Human Element, QED, Pearl Meyer & Partners, Xerox, Philip Morris/Kraft Foods, GE Capital and Champion International. Additionally, Julie has been a Corporate Fellow with University of Houston – Downtown and an Adjunct Professor at Fairfield University. Julie has an MS in Organizational Management and HR Development from Manhattanville College(Purchase NY) and a BA in Math and Philosophy from Mt. Holyoke College (South Hadley, MA). Julie has been a guest speaker at various conferences and workshops including Spelman’s Diversity Conference, ASTD and EEAC. Julie is a graduate of Leadership Houston’s Class XXXVI, and currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Council for Recovery (Houston, TX). Previously Julie served on the Board of Directors for ESCAPE (Houston, TX), Board of Trustees for the Convent of Sacred Heart (Greenwich, CT), on the Design Team (Advisory Board) for Parent Leadership Training Institute {PLTI} (Stamford, CT), and on the Board of Directors for: ERC, Inc. (Norwalk, CT), New Neighbors Inc. (Stamford, CT), Stamford’s (Mayoral) Youth Services Bureau (Stamford, CT), Communities in Action (Stamford, CT) and Teddy Bears and Teacups Charity (Fairfield, CT). Julie & her husband (Deron) live in Pearland Texas along with their fur baby – Benz.
