Description
ROSLYN, NY — Authorities have arrested a man they say tried to break into a Roslyn Estates home over the weekend.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday, 40-year-old Steven Morra tried to enter a home on The Intervale, according to Nassau County police. At the time, there was a 15-year-old girl inside. After hearing a loud bang, she noticed the back door was damaged and that a patio chair and flower pot were propped up against it.
When she saw Morra, of Levittown, walking around the backyard, authorities said she ran to a neighbor's home and called the police.
Officers said they found Morra a few hours later in an adjacent yard on The Serpentine. He reportedly resisted arrest, but was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
Morra has been charged with second-degree attempted burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespassing, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest.
