Description
Free informational sessions to help athletes, coaches, and administrators of sports organizations develop a NIL strategy. Opportunities for high school and college athletes increased exponentially during the past year due to new rules surrounding Name, Image, Likeness (or NIL). This rapid change allows for student-athletes to now earn benefits for their NIL. These benefits can equate to a few hundred dollars (or less) but there are reports across the country of 5, 6, and even 7-figure contracts. Stories like these are driving many people to ask questions about how to begin a plan to gain more from deals surrounding their personal NIL. This presentation offers two sessions to help explore the foundation needed for athletes and sports organizations to create a NIL strategy. Attendees are required to choose the ONE SESSION that best describes them based on the following. Session 1 (12-1 PM) is for high school, college, and club sports coaches who want to provide better advice to their athletes, staff, and teams. Attendees will learn: How can my team, program, and / or athletes benefit from the new NIL rules? What are the top 10 things my team or organization should be doing to prepare for the changes ahead? Why will my approach to NIL during the upcoming season bring us a competitive advantage?Session 2 (1:30-2:30 PM) is for high school and college athletes (and their parents/guardians) who want to learn how to increase their opportunities related to NIL. Attendees will learn: When should I start planning a NIL strategy for my college sports career?Which considerations are most important to college athletes who want to earn more from NIL? How will NIL help me better prepare for life and professional pursuits after college?Information at both sessions will be provided by multiple experts with recent experience working with professional, college, and high school athletes and sports organizations. These include a (an): Marketing agency owner who is working with businesses and athletes to develop their NIL programs and contracts.College professor in the Department of Communications at the University of Louisville who is advising students and parents on academic courses and internships related to NIL and sports. Elite 7v7 football coach that is helping guide high school and college athletes through NIL contracts and recruiting.Former professional athlete who discusses financial planning and tax strategies with athletes who are earning revenue and starting businesses.Sports business entrepreneur working with clients creating associations and strategies specifically centered around NIL opportunities. Restaurant owner and CEO that is working on developing his business' NIL strategy for the year ahead. A healthy buffet-style lunch will be offered to the first 100 people who register for Sessions 1 and 2. Food will be provided by Green District Salads, Louisville’s favorite chopped salad shop. Please RSVP by 8 PM, Friday, May 20, to confirm your spot and ensure enough food is available for attendees. Attendees at Session 2 will be served on a first-come-first-served basis until the food runs out.
