Description
MILWAUKEE, WI — An off-duty Ohio police officer shot and killed a 17-year-old from Milwaukee during an armed robbery attempt on Sunday, according to a report.
A 38-year-old Cleveland Division of Police officer shot the teen in Milwaukee's north side shortly after midnight, The Associated Press said. Neither the officer nor the teen were named, but officials said the teen had a gun.
The Milwaukee Police Department said in a statement that the officer fired the gun in self-defense. The investigation is still open, and police are looking for two people involved in the robbery attempt.
Cleveland Police Union President Jeff Follmer said the 38-year-old officer wasn't in custody and use of force appeared to be "justified," WJW-TV reported.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 414-224-Tips or P3 Tips App.
