SUMMIT, NJ — Summit High School's spring production of "Footloose" received five Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star nominations, including Outstanding Overall Musical this year. This is the 14th year that Summit has been one of the seven shows nominated for Best Musical in the Rising Star competition that includes 100 schools in New Jersey. Paper Mill Playhouse, the theater in Millburn, announced its 2022 nominees for its statewide Rising Star Awards, which are given to those who participate in high school theater. Summit is among seven productions nominated for Outstanding Overall Musical. The nominations are as follows: Clearview Regional High School, Mullica Hill, The Hunchback of Notre DameColumbia High School in Maplewood, NewsiesImmaculate Heart Academy, Legaly BlondeRidge High School, Basking Ridge, MatildaScotch Plains Fanwood High School, Les MiserableSummit High School, FootlooseWest Milford Township High School, AnastasiaThe Rising Star Awards Ceremony will be held at the Paper Mill Playhouse Tuesday, June 7. As one of the seven schools nominated for Outstanding Overall Musical, the cast of Footloose will perform a number on the stage during the ceremony.
