Elevate Life, a wellness clinic in Annapolis, is set out to change healthcare, one life at a time. With this vision, Dr. Daniel Johns DC has built a center where patients can receive holistic healthcare through an integrated approach. To their already dynamic team of chiropractors, physical therapists, and an acupuncturist, they recently added a family nurse practitioner, Liz Scheuerman CRNP FNP-C. Liz, a graduate from Georgetown University's family nurse practitioner program, has always been passionate about integrative medicine and the body's ability to heal. She approaches wellness and illness with the belief that health is not just the absence of disease, but a state of total well-being of mind, body, and spirit. She utilizes both conventional and alternative medicine to optimize patients' health, with an emphasis on nutrition, lifestyle, mineral balance, movement, and integration of care. When patients come to their first appointment with Liz, they will notice that their experience is unlike most medical visits. New patient visits are 45-60 minutes and take place in a comfortable, peaceful environment, allowing patients the time and space to be seen and heard. This model allows for a deeper look into the root cause of illness, in order to bring the body back into balance. She often uses and recommends natural remedies and homeopathic medicine before conventional approaches, when appropriate. In addition to standard lab work and diagnostics, she offers DUTCH hormone testing, Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), GI mapping, and more to get to the root cause of symptoms. Some of the common conditions Liz treats include chronic fatigue, chronic pain, hormone imbalance, mineral depletion, autoimmune conditions, and more. She collaborates closely with the other providers in the practice to give her patients an integrated approach to care in order to achieve the best outcomes. Elevate Life now also offers IV nutrient therapy, which is something Liz loves to utilize for her patients who are dealing with chronic fatigue, feeling run-down, dehydrated, or sick with the common cold. IV nutrient therapy can be extremely helpful in the healing journey. Liz is also able to offer primary care services and wellness visits for adults, and when necessary, will refer out to other professionals, such as mental health providers, cardiologists, etc. She can provide necessary referrals for imaging, laboratory services, as well as prescriptions for pharmaceuticals when needed. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for the last 10 years, Liz is also providing prenatal and postpartum lactation consultations in office. She is especially passionate about helping mothers replenish minerals and nutrients during the postpartum period, when they tend to feel the most depleted. What's even more is that most visits with Liz are covered under insurance! This post is an advertorial piece contributed by a Patch Community Partner, a local brand partner.
