MANCHESTER, CT — A man spent Monday night into Tuesday morning in the lockup on a half-million-dollar bond after a late-night stabbing incident in Manchester, police said.
At about 11:45 p.m. Monday, Manchester officers responded to 20-22 Thompson Road and found a 33-year-old man in the parking lot of the building suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound to the eye, according to an incident report. The man was bleeding heavily, and officers provided medical attention while trying to gather information on the altercation, according to an incident report.
A witness reported seeing the victim and another man fighting in the parking lot and a suspect was identified as 20-year-old Earl Hairston of Manchester.
Hairston fled into the building and officers quickly located him and took him into custody without further incident, according to the report.
The victim was transported to Hartford Hospital with what police termed serious injuries. As of this morning, he was at an area hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.
Hairston has been charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
