CONCORD, NH — Investigators looking into the killings of a retired couple in Concord last month have released a sketch of a person of interest in the case. Limited information is available about the man. But investigators believe he was in the area of the Broken Ground Trail system, specifically, the Marsh Loop Trail, in East Concord, at the time Stephen Reid and Djeswende Reid homicide were killed on April 18. The man was described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a medium build, short brown hair, and clean-shaven. He was wearing a dark blue jacket, possibly with a hood, and khaki-colored pants. The man was also carrying a black backpack. The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office released the sketch on Tuesday. Two anonymous donors have posted $20,000 and $5,000 toward the reward while the Concord Police Patrolmen's Association and Supervisors Association, as well as the Retired New Hampshire State Police Troopers Association, have contributed to the reward. "(The $20,000 reward donation is available) only to those who come forward with information within the next 60 days," Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the attorney general's office, said. Djeswende P. "Wende" Reid, 66, and Stephen L. Reid, 67, both of Concord, were last heard from by family members on the day they died. Family members saw them both on Easter Sunday and communicated with them the following Monday. When Stephen did not show up for a scheduled appointment that Tuesday, family members became worried. Police, state troopers, and the Central NH Special Operations Unit, the capital region's SWAT team, spent many hours searching the Concord Heights for the couple. In the early evening of April 21, police were led from the Alton Woods apartment complex where they lived, where a command center had been set up, to the Marsh Loop Trail and, later, to the discovery of their bodies. Both victims died of multiple gunshot wounds, an autopsy later determined. Investigators have spent weeks meeting with neighbors, requesting tips — including doorbell camera footage and surveillance footage from dashcams and area streets between April 17 and April 18. Since discovering the bodies, investigators have been back at the crime scene repeatedly. The release of the sketch has been the first break in the case where information was shared with the public.
