**News release submitted by Danbury Republican Town Committee** The Maron Hotel conference room thundered with applause for Republican State Senate candidate Michelle Coelho last night. Coelho accepted the nomination for the 24th State Senate District Monday night. Danbury Town Chairman Michel Safranek remarked that those in attendance certainly represented a cross section of the Community and America. Delegates from Ridgefield, New Fairfield and Danbury were in attendance. He commented; "Michelle has an amazing way of unifying and uniting people. She has what it takes to be the next Senator from the 24th district." In a rousing and moving speech, Michelle's husband Michael delivered her nominating speech. He spoke about her family fleeing Communist Cuba for a better life in America. How her family came to America for a better way and a better future. How she emboldens the American Dream. He went on to contrast how Michelle's opponent actually accepted an award from the Communist Party of Connecticut. He praised Michelle as a woman of honor and commitment to the community. "My wife, Michelle Coelho is an exemplary woman. She is a person that I look up to as a role model and it is with great honor, respect and humility that I am able to nominate Michelle Coelho as the Republican nominee for the 24th Senate District." Danbury City Councilwoman Nancy Cammisa made the Seconding nomination; "Michelle Coelho is a woman who has really worked hard for us, she is a person that people listen to and look to for leadership on the key issues facing us all. That is why I am here tonight, because I know Michelle Coelho is a good, honest person and would make a great legislator." When it was Michelle's time to speak, the room erupted with applause. She expressed gratitude to her supporters and thanked them for coming. Her message was clear, "Connecticut needs big Changes! And it starts right here in this race for State Senate in the 24th District. Together - we need to limit big government and protect our local control, especially when it comes to Education and Zoning. These decisions must be made at the local level. We must always remember to listen and give a Voice and the Choice to the parents in the education of our children. I have listened and heard the parents' concerns and will work to build a new Public Charter School in Danbury. This community is where my children are growing up and, God willing, this is where we will grow old. We also need to make Connecticut more AFFORDABLE and bring common sense leadership to the legislature. How do we that? First, we need to remove my opponent and her Far Leftist Ideas and Ideology.
