NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. ARRESTS RETAIL THEFT Yasemin Pakis, of the 500 block of Leamington Avenue, Wilmette, is accused of felony retail theft, and was arrested at 2:20 p.m. May 6, in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard. She was assigned a court date of May 19. SUSPENDED REGISTRATION Christian W. Valera, of the 1700 block of Prospect Avenue, Des Plaines, is accused of having no valid proof of insurance, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration for no insurance, and was arrested at 7:13 p.m. May 6, at Willow Road and Founders Drive. They were released after posting bond and were assigned a court date of May 27. LAST WEEK: Drunken Driver Found Sleeping Behind Wheel At Green Light INCIDENTS FORGERY An Appletree Lane resident reported at 12:03 p.m. May 6, someone made multiple transactions using the complainant's checking account, as well as altered the amount and payee of one of his checks.A Commercial Avenue resident called police at 2:40 p.m. May 12, to report someone made several transactions from his bank account without his permission. THEFT A Willow Road resident called police at 3:52 p.m. May 6, to report someone removed her wallet from her purse and made several fraudulent purchases.A person reported at 7:34 p.m. May 9, someone removed his bicycle that had left unsecured in the parking lot in the 1200 block of Cedar Road. A customer called police to report that between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. May 10, someone removed her wallet from her purse while shopping in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard and used her credit cards without her permission. FINANCIAL CRIME A Commercial Avenue resident reported May 9 someone made several withdrawals from his bank account without his permission. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY Officers responded at 6:09 p.m. May 10, to an activated burglary alarm and found that the rear door had been forced open in the 1000 block of Willow Road. The complainant reported that someone had entered and removed multiple items. RETAIL THEFT An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 2:56 p.m. May 11, several people from a previous retail theft entered the store and removed merchandise. The subjects then threw the merchandise from their vehicle while driving away. DOG INCIDENT A person called police at 11:26 a.m. May 12, to report her dog was attacked by two unknown dogs while walking at Valencia and Greenwood.
