Press release from the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce: May 11, 2022 After graduating from Charleston Southern University in 2011, I worked in the Metanoia Youth Leadership Academy serving as the high school coordinator for seven years. I worked with middle and high school students teaching entrepreneurship and leadership skills. I spent 5 years working for the Children's Defense Fund, founded by Marian Wright Edelman, as an Ella Baker Trainer. I helped to facilitate trainings and develop leaders to become change agents in their communities across the US. As a trainer I worked to dismantle the cradle to prison pipeline by implementing Freedom Schools, a literacy based free summer camp, throughout communities across the nation.
