The Leonard Reid House has long been a symbol of progress for residents in Sarasota’s Overtown. Its founding was the impetus of hope as a strong Black community emerged in the 1920s. Now, the historic treasure is moving to a new location so the stories of its importance—and that of the community around it—can live on through storytelling and art.
