ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of DUI, drug possession, leaving the scene of a crash, retail theft and driving violations. Here is information from the reports: DUI Ramon Rodriguez, 41, of Bensenville, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lake and Grand on charges of DUI, possession of open alcohol by a driver and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. According to a police report, Rodriguez was involved in a single-car crash. He was released on bond. Jonathan Hernandez, 20, of Harwood Heights, was cited about 11 p.m. Saturday at North and Willow on charges of DUI, improper lighting, improper lane usage and possession of alcohol by a minor. He was released on bond. Drug possession Barbara Schroeder, 45, of Lombard, was arrested about 11 p.m. Thursday at West and Utley on two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and illegal transportation of alcohol. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Leaving scene Miguel Martinez-Hernandez, 34, of Elmhurst, was cited about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of East Butterfield on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield. He was released on bond. Retail theft Rashad Oliver, 30, of Lombard, was cited about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave., on a charge of retail theft. According to a police report, Oliver concealed a bottle of liquor and left the store without paying for it. He was released on bond. Driving violations Exequias Salam Lopez-Garcia, 19, of Bensenville, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Grand and Industrial on charges of no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured vehicle, tinted windows and loud excessive noise by a muffler. He was released on bond. Xavier Alvarez-Rivera, 22, of Wood Dale, was cited about 1 a.m. Monday at Route 83 and Interstate 290 on charges of no valid driver's license and improper lane usage. He was released on bond. Christopher Diego, 22, of Northlake, was cited about 7 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of West Lake on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
