MAPLE GROVE, MN — Brad Davison, who starred for the Maple Grove High School basketball team before playing at the University of Wisconsin, worked out last week for the NBA's Atlanta Hawks. Davison tweeted Friday that he was "thankful to compete" with the Hawks the day before, adding he is "Taking nothing for Granted and Enjoying the Process" as he looks to continue his playing career at the highest level. The 6-foot, 4-inch guard was not invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine but "will still likely have professional opportunities come his way," USA Today's Badgers Wire reported. Maple Grove Man Killed In Crash With Stolen Truck Fleeing Police Davison started 33 games for the Badgers in the 2021-22 season, averaging 14.1 points and four rebounds per game, according to the University of Wisconsin basketball team's website. He made almost 35 percent of his 3-pointers and more than 38 percent of his shots during the 2021-22 season, his stats show. Davison earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors and was also was named to the Senior CLASS First-Team All-America Team for 2021-22, an award that recognizes college seniors who excel in the community, classroom and in competition. Davison earned his bachelor's degree in business, with a focus on management and human resources, last spring and is set to earn his master's degree this spring in educational leadership and policy analysis, according to the University of Wisconsin. Davison set the school record for appearances at 161, and he started all but four of those games across his collegiate career. He is also the University of Wisconsin's 3-point leader and ranks in the top 10 all-time for points (1,827), assists (343) and steals (160), according to the school. He was a two-sport star at Maple Grove High School, leading the basketball team as point guard and the football team as quarterback, Press & News reported.
