Must have asphalt paving and/or roller operator experience. Job Title: Asphalt Paving Roller Operator $25-35 per hour Report directly to: Foreman Job Summary: The employee hired for this position will directly report to his/her Foreman for guidance. Each day you will report to the yard or jobsite on time, ready to work and will be given a set of tasks to complete. On-Boarding and Training will be provided so that you are assured a safe and comforting entry into your field. Standards of Safety and Operations will be provided to you upon hire and taught to you each day as we want you to be comfortable and knowledgeable of the industry you have chosen to work in. Description of Work: You will be working in an outside environment along with the various elements. You will be working with certain materials such as water, fuel, paint, dirt, rock, asphalt, crack fill, sealcoat, and concrete as you grow into your position. Our hours of operation are based on our customer’s needs. Majority of our work starts in the morning and ends in the afternoon. There are specific applications or procedures that require day shifts, mid-day shifts and night shifts. Hours from day to day can vary as well. You will be expected to operate our smooth double-drum asphalt rollers (6-ton/47" drums) machines with safety and quality at the forefront of your mind. You will also be expected to help on the ground when needed along with assisting in the prepping and grading of our various projects. Upon your development of your skills you will have opportunities to work with some of our bigger equipment such as track hoes, skid steers, and paver operations. We take training very seriously and you will be expected to help provide some guidance and training to fellow crew members in order for us to become a well versed and cross trained group. Responsibilities: As an Operator/Laborer the following responsibilities will be required of you to perform daily or obtain through our training as you mature into this position. Know when you are starting each day Showing up ready to work Be prepared for each day which includes: bringing a lunch, dressing properly, staying hydrated etc.… Be open to learning Communicating with peers and Foreman “ask questions” Be honest about your progress or lack of Following through with day to day expectation Help train and grow with the company! Daily Duties: Lifting heavy objects 25lbs or more Stay aware of your surroundings Physically perform many duties that require strength and endurance Pace yourself while you are learning/developing Take as many breaks as needed to stay healthy and safe Help with prep work in the yard before you leave for the job and at the end of the day. Always follow the Safety and Standards of Operations Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
