Hello! I recently(May 9th, 2022) started fostering a poodle mix named Maum. His name means heart in Korean because he has a beautiful heart even though he is blind and can’t see at all. He was rescued by my cousin and we are assuming that his previous owner abandoned him because of his eye conditions. Maum was found in front of a tunnel and sadly the tunnel s known to be a place where many people abandon their dogs. Upon his rescue, he was kept in a city-run shelter but because they are always overstretched, Maum was supposed to get put down this Tuesday if he couldn’t find a place to stay. I had been grieving a lot after finding a home for my first foster dog and sending her away. So I was resisting myself from fostering another dog. But when I came across Maum’s story on Instagram, I couldn’t resist myself anymore. Maum is a 6-year-old male puddle mix. His fur is so fuzzy and the exact color of latte! He doesn’t shed at all! He is quiet, tamed, calm(although he gets a little too excited for pastries), and affectionate. He is blindness does not block him from doing daily activities of a normal dog. He is still really brave to explore and go for a long walk. Since he cannot see, he relies heavily on his sense of touch and he really likes being patted.
