Immediate Opening: Nama Farm is hiring a field hand for seasonal part-time work. Starting pay $18/hour, but we'll raise you to $20 for hard work done effectively. We are a very small farmstead in Cabot, VT growing an array of veggies and cultivating a permaculture fruit and nut orchard on our land. The work is quite diversified. We seek an able-bodied, thoughtful worker with experience in Farm or garden work. Best candidates will have their own transportation, be reliable, and pleasant to work with, good at self-directed work once oriented to tasks and able to ask questions and give feedback to get clear with us on what needs to be done or their own needs. Field work includes prepping and planting garden beds, potting up and transplanting, mulching, irrigation setup, weeding, trellising and other crop management, harvesting, washing and packing for market. There may be opportunities for you to help out in the Farmhouse Kitchen processing and canning fruits and vegetables as well. We also like to have fun here, play Music, host potlucks, and go swimming on hot days. The work can be hard but the rewards are sweet!
