SEEKING very calm, sweet companion dog for my elderly grandmother

My grandmother is still very active but on oxygen so she walks slowly, lives alone and loves dogs. She would love to have a calm, sweet companion dog to keep her company and that she can care for and take on short walks. Her last dog would sleep up on the bed with her and she really loved that. An older, medium or small sized dog that needs rehoming and also loves companionship would be ideal! It's very important that the dog not be rowdy, aggressive, jump up on people, or pull while on a leash, to avoid pulling her down or bruising her (she has a condition where she bruises very easily and her skin tears). She has had many dogs over the years and provides a very safe, loving home. Her son (my uncle) lives in the same neighborhood and I also visit multiple times a week, but nothing can replace the love of a pet! Happy to pay a rehoming fee for the right dog!
