Looking for some composers/players who are interested in a workshop style string quartet / small ensemble community group kind of thing. If you play violin, viola, cello at an intermediate-ish level (or above) and are interested in playing and/or writing new music, let’s talk! Not totally sure what this could turn into, but I’ve wanted to do it for quite a while. I imagine things will be awkward at first until we find a groove but it will probably be fun / funny! I’m a film composer and producer with a pretty nice industrial studio and can host. My interest in this is to develop a community of musicians interested in writing and / or playing new music. Composer types would write some music and we workshop it as a group to learn more about regular and extended techniques and string colors. Some writing perhaps even occurring in real time based on critique from the group. Basically looking for a bunch of curious music nerds hungry for a living community focused on creation through sound.
