Facility and Grounds Supervisor Salary/Full Time Housing is available Job Description: This position performs, coordinates and supervises the maintenance, custodial, groundkeeping activities of Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing (DCW). Job Responsibilities: • Supervising, coordinating and performing structural repairs to buildings and aesthetic repairs, such as touch-up painting, sanding and sealing wooden walkways, and window washing. • Supervising, coordinating and performing ground maintenance activities, such as mowing, raking, removing weeds, snow removal etc. • Operating and setting schedules for heating and cooling systems and timed lights. • Inspecting, testing, and repairing equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, etc. to ensure proper working condition. • Maintaining accurate records and reports regarding the maintenance activity of DCW, including water testing reports, OSHA regulations etc. • Maintaining truck, tractor and other equipment (inspections, oil changes, etc.) • Monitoring budget and inventory; initiating purchase of needed maintenance equipment and ground keeping supplies. • Setting up and monitoring work needed with third party and contract vendors. • Assuring quality of work for conformance to DCW ascetics and standards. • Assisting with pre and post event set up and break down activities that involve larger physical plant issues. • Supervising and directing the work of volunteers and staff assigned to support groundskeeping and maintenance efforts. • Assist and serve as a point person for construction, building, or expansion projects. • Visibly demonstrating safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related. • Enforcing all DCW policies and procedures related to volunteer, guests and staff conduct. • Being fair and objective while performing responsibilities, avoiding any perception of bias or favoritism. • Protecting confidentiality of information and privacy of guests, volunteers and teachers. • Performing other duties as assigned by Teachers and Dharmakaya Leadership • May be required to work over 40 hours per week as Center needs dictate; including evenings and weekends. • Need to be available or have explicitly assigned coverage 24/7 for emergenices Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Enthusiastic, resilient and thoughtful demeanor required • 3 - 5 years maintenance or custodial experience required, including working knowledge of building construction & repair, general routine maintenance, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, etc. • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and an affinity for working in an ever-changing environment. • Respect for and ability to maintain an environment of peacefulness and wellbeing while getting jobs accomplished. • Excellent communication and interaction skills, competent supervisory and organizational skills required. • A high aptitude in identifying barriers and troubleshooting with few concrete variables. • Experience in deescalating conflict or misunderstanding. • Proven capacity to work independently and as part of a team. • Exceptional organizational and project planning skills. • Ability to read, comprehend and write instructions, short correspondence and memos. • Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks and work basic mathematical problems. • Good computer and software knowledge. • Valid driver’s license required. • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb. • Ability to lift 1-50 pounds (light hand tools, etc.). Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks. • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
