The Mountain Research Station (MRS) in beautiful Nederland, Colorado is seeking Facilities Staff for their Summer Season! In this position you will assist with day-to-day operations of the MRS facility with a focus on custodial and grounds maintenance. Each day you will work on the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds, the general cleaning of MRS facilities, and occasionally aid in the dining hall and administrative office. This is the perfect position for individuals who want to spend their summer in a beautiful setting in the Rockies. The MRS is offering a $500 signing bonus for this position! Candidates must be able to fulfill the responsibilities of the position for the entire summer season. This position will begin June 1st and continue through August 12th. Typical hours will be 8am-4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be: Janitorial Cleaning of cabins, lodge, and bathrooms. Vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, taking out the trash/recycling/compost, etc. Grounds Maintenance Upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds, raking, hauling brush, fire mitigation, painting, staining, assist with construction, etc. Office and Miscellaneous Work Assist in office duties, including bookstore operation, answering phones, scanning/copies/etc., run errands to support station and research activities, occasionally assist dining hall staff with kitchen prep and serving duties. What You Should Know: This position will work fully onsite at the MRS, located about 15 minutes north of the Town of Nederland. Candidates must have reliable transportation and punctuality is essential. Schedule: Typical hours will be 8am-4:30pm, Monday thru Friday (approximately 30-40 hours per week). Some weekend hours may be necessary depending on number of guests and scheduled events. All employees are required to follow current CU Health guidelines, including while working onsite at the MRS. All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment. What We Can Offer: Compensation: $18 - $22 per hour. Benefits: Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave. What We Require: Previous cleaning and/or maintenance experience. What You Will Need: Independent worker with ability to manage time with minimal direction. Safety conscious, uses good judgment, and uses appropriate personal protective equipment during work activities. What We Would Like You To Have: Professional cleaning experience preferred. Ability to provide quality cleaning for lodging and bath facilities. Hands on skills for grounds and building maintenance. Comfortable using basic power and hand tools. Comfortable and enjoys supporting and talking to guests and researchers who are housed at the Mountain Research Station.
