MASSAPEQUA, NY — Writing personalized messages to veterans, second graders in Meggin Hall's class at East Lake Elementary School participated in Holidays for Heroes. Through the Red Cross initiative, students made cards that will be delivered to veterans' homes and hospitals on Long Island. "I wanted to give my students the opportunity to write a message to brave men and women who selflessly and honorably served and protected our country," Hall said. "The class is hoping to lift the spirits of veterans during this unprecedented holiday season."
