Warm-ups are on carpet logs. What are the goals of the 2022 US Log Rolling Open presented by Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows & KRICK, LLC? The US Log Rolling Open strives to provide a quality, professional competition in both organization as well as on-site. Every effort is being made to provide safety, consistency, and transparency to all athletes while encouraging superior sportsmanship for the enjoyment of our fans. The tournament also serves to promote the sport of log rolling, connect with the roots of competitive log rolling, and demonstrate support for our sponsors who make the event possible. Why the partnership? Dan McDonough will be running all operations and providing all equipment. Katie Burke is responsible for planning front-end and wrap-up reporting back-end. Dan is solely responsible for operations with his own team of volunteers. Katie will be competing in the event. Is this tournament part of a larger event? This is a United States Log Rolling Association (USLRA) Sanctioned Level Two Tournament. All USLRA rules will be followed. Additional safety precautions will be taken for an area greater than three feet parallel to the dock. All logs will be 12 feet long. Each competitor will sign a liability waiver, media waiver, and Code of Conduct agreement when registering on the day of the event in order to compete. Draw: The draw will take place in advance of the event. Follow us on Facebook for details. Any names withdrawn after the draw will be regarded a scratch, just as if happened during competition; USLRA rules will apply. Schedule: July 4: Tentative Schedule *Note there is a parade going on so you may want to plan to arrive early so you do not get blocked. Plan to arrive by 10 if you would like to park near the water. If arriving after 10 park on Minneapolis Street and walk. The 11:30- 12:30 pm (EST) Warm-up on carpet logs (may be a spike log available) and Event Check-in for athletes 12:30 pm (EST) Competition will start immediately following the parade. Match Order: All matches will be run from a single dock, alternating a “round” of women’s matches, with a “round” of men’s matches. Traditional bracket order will be followed, dependent on the numbers front to back of the bracket. A detailed schedule of match order will be available in the competitors' area. Do I need to wear my competitor shirt? Can I wear my sponsors' logo? Competitor shirts must be worn during competition and while accepting awards. Personal sponsors’ logos may be worn during competition with prior approval, and can be displayed on hat, shorts, socks or calf sleeves only. Athletes will NOT be permitted to wear clothing or display other items that bear logos, marks, or other identification of products that are competitive with any official tournament sponsors. Current Sponsors include: Visit Escanaba, Jack Pines Lumberjack Shows, and KRICK, LLC- additional Tournament sponsors are still being finalized. Prize Money: Guaranteed to be $5,000 total purse split 50/50 between the men's and women's divisions. Each division will have a prize money break down as follows: 1st- $700, 2nd- $500, 3rd- $375, 4th- $275, 5th- $200, 6th- $200 7th- $125, 8th- $125. What do I receive for my entry fee? You will receive a shirt or tank. Competition will be on spike logs. Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
