Spend the morning with IDA-Oregon Branch Directors and our Student Empowerment Panel for an in-depth introduction to dyslexia.
What: Participate in an interactive training that meets the focus area of Understanding and Recognizing Dyslexia as described in Senate Bill 612/1003 and is approved by The Oregon Department of Education.A certificate of completion will be awarded to individuals upon submission of a demonstration of knowledge. In addition, participants will earn 4 PDUs.A complete recording of the training will be available to each attendee after the event. Presenters: Course content will be presented by directors of the International Dyslexia Association- Oregon Branch as well as members of our Award-Winning Student Empowerment Panel.When: Saturday, June 4th 8:30 am-12:30 pm Pacific TimeWhere: We are excited to offer this training in-person at Park Academy 1915 South Shore Blvd, Lake Oswego, OR 97034. Schedule for the morning: A dyslexia simulation followed by an interactive discussionA thorough and in-depth presentation on understanding the nature and characteristics of dyslexia and how to recognize dyslexia in students across the age groupsA panel of high school students will share their personal experiences of dyslexia in and outside of the classroom - the challenges that frustrate them and the accommodations that help them succeed.
