This can be a daunting + overwhelming topic to navigate on your own, but we want to make it fun + approachable so you can embrace artificial lighting in an educational environment. Natural light shooting is a go-to for many photographers because it's... EASY! It's free, requires no setup, and can be absolutely stunning. However, it's always, always, always a gamble. Sunlight is not always consistent, reliable, or available when you're shooting. Have you ever wondered how some images have a multi-dimensional, crisp, even look? Artificial light allows you to achieve photos that just aren't possible with natural light alone! All photos below were taken by Emily Foss at our studio, Fort Collins Creative Co., with the lighting setup we'll be working with. This lighting system is available to rent as an add-on with any studio rental! We'll give you a comprehensive look at how to use a multitude of different lights + systems in a variety of locations, whether you're in a studio setting or on location at a shoot, event, or wedding. You'll walk away from this workshop with an overwhelming sense of confidence, knowledge of the gear you want to add to your arsenal, and the technical skills to execute shoots with artificial lighting on your own.
