Description

Flingin Pots Presents Create your Own Olla Garden Pot & Sunflower Lid! What is an Olla Pot?  The Olla water pot (a low-fired, ceramic clay vessel) is an ancient technique for the efficient irrigation of crops. First, in use in China and North Africa more than 4,000 years ago, the technique has spread throughout arid regions of the world. The use of ollas (pronounced oh-yahs) can save the gardener time, energy, and water. Plants watered in this way do not undergo stress cycles due to water and can live and produce longer. Ollas can be a relatively inexpensive way to  maximize your garden output while minimizing overwatering, runoff, and water loss. In this workshop, Flingin Pots will provide all materials and instruction for the student to make 1 Two-liter Olla Pot.   We will be teaching the extruding method for construction of the Olla body and coil & slab construction for the lid. *Ages 6-10 must have an adult present ***Refunds only available within 48 hours of ticket purchase***
