Join us as we welcome 10 pioneering Australian fintechs to NYC for a fintech panel and cocktail event! The Australian Trade and Investment Commission and WEVE Acceleration are hosting a moderated discussion with industry leaders on the US Fintech industry landscape, trends and challenges. Following the conclusion of the panel discussion at 6:30pm, you will have an opportunity to network and meet some of Australia’s brightest Fintech startups who will be in NYC for the next two weeks.Panelists: Fabien Legland, Director of Technology Business Management at BNY Mellon Yasmin Lalani, Co-Head of the FinTech Innovation Lab at the Partnership Fund for NYC Alex Trotta, Vice President and Product Manager, Financial Cloud Platform at Goldman Sachs Eric McCabe, Senior Payment Strategist at SVB Bios - Fabien started his career in Paris managing organization and information technology projects for the public sector and the financial services industry. He joined Credit Agricole CIB in 2008 and worked in Paris and NYC in the Strategy & Project Management and the Global Sourcing & Procurement units. After obtaining his CFA in 2015, Fabien took the responsibility of the Project Management & Innovation team where he oversaw the digital transformation at Credit Agricole CIB in the Americas, leveraging talents within the company and building external partnerships. Fabien is director of Technology Business Management at BNY Mellon since November 2019. He is leading business engagement with Technology to drive cost optimization, communicate value and invest in growth. Fabien is also involved in the innovation ecosystem: he is a mentor for start-ups looking to penetrate or expand in the U.S. He loves to speak and write about digital transformation. Yasmine is Co-Head of the FinTech Innovation Lab at the Partnership Fund for New York City, a non-profit venture capital fund. Her work with the Lab involves supporting fintech/insurtech startup founders to break into the New York enterprise financial services ecosystem (the Lab works with 44 financial institutions). Prior to the Partnership Fund, Yasmin co-founded a SaaS-based document storage startup supporting families without access to financial advisors or legal counsel. She also was an early-stage team member at fintech startup, MPOWER Financing, where she supported fundraising, operations, and marketing initiatives. She holds a BA in Economics and Geography from George Washington University and an MBA from Cornell. Alex Trotta is the Vice President, Product Manager, Financial Cloud Platform at Goldman Sachs and served as Director of Product Development at MasterCard as well as VP of Open Innovation & Product Development at CitiBank. Alex’s mission is to nurture progressive thinkers through his work with international founders and corporate innovation programs. Alex has helped 100s of startups find their product market fit and raise funds. Eric McCabe, Based in NY, Eric is a Senior Payment Strategist at SVB where he helps companies to build and optimize payment solutions, typically by partnering on projects that enable companies to build payments-related offering on top of SVB’s payment rails and infrastructure. Examples of common use cases include bill pay, payroll, travel booking, claims payment, and other business models that involve money movement. Prior to SVB, Eric worked in Citi’s global Treasury and Trade Solutions team where he held roles across Product, Solutioning, and Operations.
