Juneteenth Scholars On The Rise program is a public recognition of academic achievement, leadership, and the pursuit of higher education.
The Epsilon Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., invites you to celebrate our holistic emancipation and to promote classroom excellence through the honoring of top students.
The program will feature live artistic performances, remarks by local officials and former scholarship recipients, the awarding of scholarships, and a keynote address by Superintendent of the Chatham County School System, Brother Dr. Anthony D. Jackson.
Throughout his career, Dr. Jackson has received numerous awards and commendations including North Carolina Central Region's Superintendent of the Year in 2014. In 2017, Jackson received the prestigious Friday Medal for his leadership in implementing technological innovation in North Carolina school systems. In July 2019, Dr. Jackson was again named the North Carolina Central Region's Superintendent of the Year and in November 2019, was named the 2020 North Carolina A. Craig Phillips Superintendent of the Year.
We are excited to welcome Brother Dr. Jackson back to Nash-Rocky Mount where he served as school superintendent 2011 - 2015.
Thank you for your ongoing emotional, spiritual and financial support, which enable us to pour into the lives of young men throughout the region, and to invest in their ongoing development.
