JOB SUMMARY The Sorter is required to know and understand what can be recycled within the program parameters and sorts products into specific piles to be picked up, weighed and catalogued. The Sorter documents weights and information gained from any sorted box and reports those findings on a Green Builder manifest. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Sort recyclable material into specific piles to be picked up, weighed, and cataloged for detailed information given to the customer whose box we’re sorting. Determine if customers on the manifest are Green Builder customers. Ensure boxes contain actual loads versus rejected loads. Other duties as assigned. Comply with the company’s safety policies, as well as Occupational Safety & Health Administration regulations. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules and memorandums in English Ability to determine which materials are recyclable Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail Reliable transportation Available to work weekend or holiday shifts, as scheduled PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or its equivalent Valid Class C driver's license Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on the current motor vehicle record (MVR), with no serious accidents or traffic violations. *Texas Disposal Systems is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
