The Cousens Fund is a trust fund of the City of Newton that gives financial assistance to residents of Newton. It is overseen by three trustees, who are appointed by the mayor and approved by the City Council. The Fund employs a part-time director to manage the day-to-day activity of the Cousens Fund.
This job affords an opportunity to be part of a city-wide support system for residents who find themselves in need of financial assistance. The director is responsible for reviewing and verifying information on applications; interviewing applicants; providing intake sheets to trustees; maintaining records; requesting checks; and writing grants.
