BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Due to inclement weather in the forecast, Baltimore County Public Schools canceled all after-school and evening activities Monday, May 16. All after-school activities in school buildings — both school-based and community-sponsored — are canceled. Child care programs are canceled as well, officials said. Forecasters are calling for severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and night. Severe storms are most likely between 1 and 6 p.m. in northern Baltimore County and 2 and 7 p.m. in southern Baltimore County, according to the National Weather Service. "Damaging winds are the primary threat, but large hail and isolated tornadoes are possible," a hazardous weather outlook for the Baltimore-Washington area states. Flooding could also occur. Public schools in Howard County are closing three hours early due to the impending weather, officials said. Anne Arundel County Public Schools also canceled evening activities because of the forecast. See the latest Baltimore County forecast. Courtesy of the National Weather Service.
