Press release from the University of Delaware: May 16, 2022 Alumnus, educator appointed by Gov. John Carney Freeman L. Williams of Newark, a respected educator and University of Delaware alumnus, has been appointed to a six-year term on the University's Board of Trustees by Delaware Gov. John Carney. Williams has had more than 40 years of experience in education leadership at all levels. In 2016, he retired as superintendent of the Christina School District, where he held a variety of administrative posts. Earlier in his career, he held positions in the Appoquinimink School District and the Prince William County School District in Manassas, Virginia.
