NEW HAVEN, CT —Last Friday night, shots rang out on Ferry Street, between Peck and Lombard streets. New Haven officers, responding to the area after getting a call that a person had been shot, found a 38-year-old New Haven woman struck by gunfire, according to police. Taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police spokesperson Scott Shumway said. The Bureau of Identification collected ballistic evidence, he said, and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the shooting. Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
