Press release from the Nassau County Government: May 12, 2022 (FREEPORT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) joined the Freeport Chamber of Commerce and her colleagues in government on Wednesday, May 11 for the golden anniversary celebration of Freeport's Imperial Diner. Legislator Mulé presented a Nassau County Legislature Citation to owners Billy and Lana Moustakas and joined in a milkshake toast to many more successful years of serving the community. "For generations, the Imperial Diner has been a destination for family gatherings, late-night burgers, and meetings. During Superstorm Sandy, it was one of the few locations with power and a Wi-Fi connection and became place for community members to seek refuge," Legislator Mulé said. "That is why it was such a pleasure to congratulate Billy and Lana and everyone at the Imperial Diner on 50 years as a cherished Freeport community hub."
