Press release from the Nassau County Government: May 12, 2022 WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) is partnering with NuHealth to bring the mammography van to Freeport on Wednesday, June 8. Women over the age of 40 who have not had a mammography within a year or longer will be able to receive mammograms with zero out-of-pocket cost aboard the van, which will be stationed in the parking lot of the Freeport Recreation Center. Appointments are required. Attendees with health insurance must provide a prescription from their physician and film from past exams. Women with health insurance may be required to make a co-payment. All participants will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with current CDC COVID-19 prevention guidelines for medical settings.
