Kansas City Community Builders to Watch is a celebratory reception honoring local leaders with exceptional stories of community impact. Join Startland News for a celebratory reception, concert, and networking event in honor of five local leaders with exceptional stories of community impact and working to build a Kansas City where entrepreneurs, innovators, makers, creatives, risk-takers, leaders, learners, teachers, and builders thrive together. 2022 honorees will be announced June 8. While there's no formal dress code to attend, guests are encouraged to wear their Kansas City pride in support of local makers, brands, and organizations. This outdoor, afternoon reception will be held in the heart of downtown Kansas City at KC Live! in the Power & Light District. The KC Live! Garage offers free 3-hour parking with validation from any Power & Light District merchant. The garage sits directly beneath the event venue. Please take the elevator to L1. Guests will be treated to a 5:00 performance by The Black Creatures. The Black Creatures make a point to blur the lines of genre while maintaining a recognizable cohesion; often times blending contemporary styles of pop, hip-hop, dance, R&B, EDM and soul with cinematic and storytelling sci-fi/fantasy elements and themes.
