Special Education Directors Academy Cohort 4 Year 2 Arizona Council of Administrators of Special Education (AZCASE) and the Arizona Council for Exceptional Children (AZCEC) present Year 2 of the Special Education Directors Academy, for individuals who have successfully completed SEDA Year 1. Year 2 of the Academy meets five times during the 2022-2023 school year and includes conference fees for Survivor’s Conference, Principal’s Law Conference (you and one principal), and Threading the Needle. The purpose of the YEAR 2 is to continue the support and networking of Year 1 and to learn how state and federal special education policy and legislation impacts the daily management of special education programs. What does Year 2 Academy include? ✓ One year of premier professional membership in CEC and CASE. ✓ Registration for Survivors Conference. ✓ Five half-day sessions of collaboration and sharing with fellow cohort members, presentations to cohort members by experienced special educators, and presentations by cohort members to colleagues. ✓ Registration for the director and one principal to the 2023 Principal’s Institute and registration to Threading the Needle ✓ Becoming an active part of a collegial network of directors across the state. Year 2 Academy Dates: ✓ August 12, 2022 – Survivor’s Conference & Year 2 Academy at Chandler IRC ✓ September 23, 2022 – 12:00-3:30 at Littleton ESD ✓ October 28, 2022 – 12:00-3:30 at Littleton ESD ✓ January 20, 2023 – 12:00-3:30 at Littleton ESD January, 2022 (TBD) Principal’s Institute/with Principal ✓ February 24, 2023 – final SEDA session, 12:00-3:30 at Littleton ESD ✓ May 12, 2023 – Threading the Needle at Littleton ESD Registration Information - Successful completion of SEDA Year 1 is required for registration.
