BAY SHORE, NY — An aspiring actor from Bay Shore is continuing to pursue his dreams and hopes to land a role in Michael B. Jordan's next movie. Quentin Thomson, 23, is campaigning to produce and shoot his own "Static Shock" concept trailer, in order to score an audition for the live-action superhero movie that will be produced by the Black Panther star. In an email to Patch, Thompson said that in order to make the trailer with a fully assembled crew, the campaign must meet 80 percent of its $7,000 goal. So far, the campaign has five percent, or $360. "I didn't want to wait, especially for a role that is just so fitting for me and has been so inspirational for me," he said. The petition has received 1,154 signatures to date. He presently is represented by DDO Artists Agency. "I'm thinking about the message that it could create for people. And the impact on youth and underrepresented communities and feeling that they can go after anything they want," said Thomson, who is first-generation American. "There's a lot more than just getting a role."
