Celebration of completion of the Gail Meredith Memorial Garden at Satellite Beach City Hall. When Gail Meredith, a Satellite Beach resident and conservation advocate, passed away in September 2019, a decision was made to establish a native plant garden at City Hall in her memory. Members of the Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coalition, Florida Native Plant Society, Satellite Beach Sustainability Council and Friends of the Carr Refuge contributed to this effort, with matching funds from Keep Brevard Beautiful. Nick Sanzone led the effort and invited volunteers to help plant in 2021. With signs now in place, the initial efforts are complete. This garden contains healthy specimins of the Florida native trees that are recommended for use on the barrier island of Brevard County. Please join us to celebrate this special garden.
