GILROY, CA — On Friday, Gilroy Gardens will open to cyclists as part of National Bike Month and Silicon Valley's Bike to Where Days. From 4-7 p.m., cyclists on bicycles and scooters can enjoy the park's scenic grounds as part of the second annual Ride the Gardens event. Inside the gardens, cyclists will find Mayor Marie Blankley on her bike, as well as a coffee shop stocked with beverages, sweets, and sandwiches. A food truck in the parking lot will offer hot food and cold drinks. The event is free, but limited to 500 registered riders. See here to register. Even if you miss this one, cyclists are encouraged to bike everywhere from May 19-21 as part of Silicon Valley's Bike to Wherever Days. The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition will be in the park hosting an Energizer station where riders who pledge to Ride to Anywhere can pick up a complimentary Ride to Anywhere messenger bag. Make the pledge here.
