Here are the top three stories today in Atlanta: The Atlanta Police Department has arrested multiple individuals who were protesting the construction of a new police training center. The Atlanta City Council approved the construction that would occur at Old Atlanta Prison Farms on Keys Road on an 85-acre piece of land. The department hopes that the new training facility will boost morale, retention, and recruitment efforts. (WSB Atlanta) Desperate Atlanta mothers are turning to Facebook groups and community organizations to locate baby formula. Organizers with The Bunny Hive are collecting formulas to distribute to mothers. Anyone with a formula with more than a month left of shelf life can donate to the organization. Social media seems to be the medium of choice for mothers searching for baby formula. (CBS 46 News)Atlanta Public Schools' kindergarten students will be receiving a $50 starter savings account. The program is meant to educate the students on financial literacy. The HOPE Child Savings Accounts Program is a collaboration between the school district, Citibank, Operation HOPE, and the city.
