It's a long story but I will cut to the chase. I need about $15K to get my house up to a livable standard. I am walking on plywood, need kitchen appliances, and just some general work. I just can't do it anymore. I am a 100% disabled veteran ( a real disabled vet) and have lost my ability to do anything. It was only three years ago, and I was able to do anything. After deaths in the family and a series of financial mishaps, I can't afford to do these repairs.
Yes, I have tried charitable organizations, veteran groups, and a host of other resources. I am not sure where the taxpayer money is going because it's not going to help guys like me. Here's how a reader may be able to help me.
I have some money - not much - but I do have a few thousand. I have a small pension from work and a disability payment. Maybe someone knows of a used refrigerator. I also need a new stove. The old one is shot. Good thing we have microwaves. It's electric and maybe someone knows of a used stove.
As far as the flooring goes, maybe someone knows of a charitable organization that can come in and help or knows of someone that will do this for a smaller fee. Whatever the case, I would like to get off the plywood flooring. The old flooring was unhealthy so I pulled it out.
I know this is a shot in the dark but I thought I would give it a try. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
Thanks
