Positive work environment and opportunity for advancement. Summary of Position Maintains golf course grounds turf and plant areas. Performs basic labor on the golf course and landscapes. Operates landscape tools and equipment. Works both alone and with a team to maintain grounds at a premium level. Responsibilities & Duties Operate all golf course equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Operate equipment as directed by Equipment Manager, Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. Responsible for the care and maintenance of all landscape areas throughout the property including: mowing, trimming, plant removal and re-planting, annual flower replacement, weeding, fertilizing. Must follow both oral and written instructions. Must maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees. Communicate questions or problems to Supervisor. Work with or without direct supervision. Must be polite and friendly to our players and guests. Must maintain a well-groomed appearance. Possess an in depth working knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, plant material and equipment. Minimum education requirement: High school education or its equivalent. Valid Oregon Drivers License. Valid Oregon Commercial Pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain license within 90 days. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules and methods of play preferred but not required. Interpersonal skill to resolve conflict and work with supervisors, officials, employees, members and the public. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height. Ability to bend, turn, kneel and stoop while exposed to hot and cold temperatures. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to operate gas-powered equipment in a safe manner. Compensation: $25.00/hr, this is a full-time, year round position with paid medical insurance, 401k retirement, vacation, shift meals, staff uniforms provided and continuing education allotment.
